主讲人简介:Professor Ahimsa Campos-Arceiz is an ecologist with an interest in the human dimensions of conservation. His research focuses mainly on the behavior, ecology, and conservation of Asian megafauna, particularly elephants, which he has studied for nearly 20 years. He studies the ecological role of large animals in seed dispersal and work on evidence-based strategies to mitigate human-wildlife conflicts. Increasingly, his work includes social aspects of wildlife conservation, including people’s behavior, governance, economics, and policy. He is currently based in Xishuangbanna, southwest China, and have spent nearly 20 years in Asia. he has conducted research in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Japan, Mongolia, and other counties. He hold a PhD in Biodiversity Science from the University of Tokyo (2009) and have published over 75 articles in international scientific journals, which have been cited over 3000 times. Besides research, he is very interested in local capacity building, conservation outreach, and working with local authorities to develop and implement evidence-based conservation policies. he is a former President of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation (ATBC) and former President of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) Asia Section.
